LET'S TALK ABOUT ANGELS ~ Part ll

Grab your favorite cup of Joe or tea and let's dig into the subject of angels once again. In Part 1, I talked about the misuse of angels on TV, in movies, and by people. Before I delve into our subject today, know that there is much more information than possible to go into here. But I'll do my best to give you an overview of sorts. First, angels are heavenly (spiritual) beings created by God.

But not all angels are holy.

Satan was perfect, but pride became his undoing. Thinking he could be like God, he was cast out of heaven (Is. 12:14-15, Jude 6). Jesus saw Satan fall like lightening from heaven, (Luke 10:18). Satan and angelic beings who followed him are fallen angels. They make war on the saints (Rev. 12:7-17), are imprisoned (ll Peter 2:4), and everlasting fire is prepared for them (Matt. 25:41). He and his minions (demons) are the enemies of God and mankind.

Satan, also called the devil, is the chief opponent of God. Scripture says of the devil and his followers, "You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies," (emphasis mine, John 8:44). Satan is also called a thief. John 10:10 says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."

God's holy angels ministry toward nonbelievers; a destruction, (Gen. 19:13), a curse (Judg. 5:23), a pestilence (ll Sam. 24:15-17), sudden death (Acts 12:23), persecution (Ps. 35:5, 6). Yes, God in His sovereignty, punishes evil. Hell is prepared for the devil and his angels (demons), and those who reject God's Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:16-21).

Friend, Hebrews 1:14, speaking of angels as ministering spirits, says, they are sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation through Jesus Christ. Angels are His messengers, and they work to; guide (Gen. 24:7, 40), provide for (1 Kings 19:5-8), protect (Ps. 34:7), deliver (Dan. 6:22, Acts 12:7-10), gather (Matt. 24:31), direct activities (Acts 8:26), comfort (Acts 27:23, 24). David, wrote this psalm. "Bless the Lord, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, obeying the voice of his word! Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers who do his will! (Psalm 103:20-21).

If you've been taught that Jesus was Satan's brother, you won't find such teaching in the Holy Scriptures. It's a lie from the pit of hell—a belief taught by demons, who seek to deceive. Jesus is God's One and only Son. We are told to test the spirits—to see if they are from God. If teaching comes to us that is different from what scripture teaches, we are to reject it. There are many anti-Christs in the world, but one is coming who will do signs and wonders to deceive many.

He is the one who will make a 6 ½ year peace treaty with Israel. Half way through he will break the treaty. He will seek to be worshipped. Please, understand this warning I am giving you. Do not take his mark on your hand or your forehead (Rev. 13:17). I love you and pray that you will come to love and honor the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave His life for you.

Father, open the eyes of the blind that they would see the love you have for them. That they would know you. That they would worship you. For you alone are Almighty God. You alone are worthy of praise. May you be magnified, oh, Lord. I praise you!
In Jesus name. Amen.

Blessings ~ Danie Marie
