Goodnight

GOODNIGHT
August 21, 2002
Danie Marie

The last of birdsongs quiet as the stillness
of night sets in, and the singing of crickets begins.
Little by little darkness falls. One by one,
stars make their appearance—twinkling lights.
The final pink hued clouds turned gray,
I breathe the cool night air,
as wisps of hair blow ‘cross my face,
and say a thankful prayer.

But still night, no!

Wind whisks in, rustles oak leaves,
tinkles wind chimes, makes great pines sing.
Crickets fully wakened, join in with frogs in chorus,
their music a lullaby 'cross the land.
Leaves scamper like children‘long the road
this early August night;
the horizon now a silhouette of trees,
I whisper, "Goodnight."

Genesis 1:14 ~ "And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth."

Lord, your plans are yes and amen. Encourage us today and in the coming days as we await your return, when you will reign supreme. Nature cries out that You, and You alone are God. We thank you, in Jesus name. Amen.

Love & Blessings,
Danie Marie
