Falling Back

I’m letting go and falling back into the arms of Jesus. It’s all I can do. Sickness has stripped my plans to attend Mount Hermon Christian Writers Conference where I planned to pitch my short novel.

I’ve had the flu twice this year already, and I’m starting week three with bronchitis complicated by asthma and type 1 diabetes. I’ve been to the doctors three times and Urgent Care once this round. So yesterday, it finally got me down. I felt weepy. And I’ll admit, the pity bug popped its ugly head into the door of my heart.

But I saw it and kicked its butt to the curb.

Long term sickness is prone to chip away spiritual fervor. Relax, I’m not there. I’ll not let that beast to take hold. I’m fighting mad!

Need I remind the devil that when I was laid up in the hospital for a week in November ’09 with double pneumonia, I prayed with one of the nurses who was going through a bad time, and whom I’m still mentoring? He doesn’t want to mess with me. I’m God’s girl; the King’s kid!

And so are you! Don’t be discouraged, friends. If life has knocked you down, fall into the loving arms of our Savior. He will carry you.

He lavishes us with infinite love.

Do you trust Him? Tell him right now. “I trust you, Jesus.” Do it as an act of faith.

Be humbled before the Lord, and He will lift you up. James 4:10

Oh Lord, bless my friends who are suffering. Hold them close and don’t let the devil get a foothold. Give them courage to fight the good fight. You have plans and purposes for their lives that are “yes” and “amen”, and altogether good. When you close a door, you open a window. Thank you Jesus. Amen.

God bless you!

  3. I'm so sorry you're feeling bad and had to miss Mount Hermon! I know how frustrating that must be. But praise God we know He has a perfect plan. Like you noted in your prayer opportunity, God doesn't waste any scars/huts/disappointments.
